Unida is an american stoner rock band formed in 1997 in Indio, California.
The band's founding members include vocalist John Garcia (Kyuss), guitarist Arthur Seay (House of Broken Promises, Apeshit, Arthur Seay and the Riff Killers, Death in Pretty wrapping), bassist Dave Dinesmore, and drummer Mike Cancino (Soul Sign).
They burst onto the scene like a pack of coyotes crashing a campfire, igniting a frenzy of fans with their blend of desert rock and cosmic chaos. Unida's debut ep "The Best of Wayne Gro" was released in 1999 to critical acclaim, followed up by "Coping With the Urban Coyote" on Frank Koziks now legendary Mans Ruin Records. In the blink of an eye (or the time it takes to down a shot of tequila), they caught the attention of none other than Rick Rubin, who signed them faster than you can say "Rock 'n' roll royalty."
The bidding war from major labels started. The band then decided to sign with legendary producer Rick Ruben and his American Records / Sony Records. Unida recorded their major label record "For the Working Man" at the famous Sound City Studio, where countless ground breaking records have been made. But that record was never officially released. Despite their success, Unida has experienced some lineup chances over the years. However, Arthur Seay and drummer Mike Cancino have remained a constant presence in the band. But Unida are back and creating new music with new vocalist Mark Sunshine, and the band have been touring Europe again, revitalizing the band and its music! Arthur Seay's main goal is to get "For the Working Man" released officially and he'll get it done! So buckle up! Because Unida is back to take you on a ride through the desert of distortion, where every riff is hotter than the California sun, and every beat kicks harder than a cactus in cowboy boots.
